Well I tried to go to the sidewalk chalk arts festival yesterday, but it rained and so I gave up and went to the bookstore to read a comic I didn't want to buy.
Speaking of which, I'm in the midst of making a four page or so, contemplative minicomic. I hate the writing of it though. I can't write. This is my newest realization. Was in a huge art rut, but I think I'm slowly coming out of it. I have a couple things I've done recently that I'm quite happy with. Here are a couple. My latest, drawn last night, hasn't been scanned yet. So you know how that goes...
Also bought new shoes, reserved my storage space, and am seriously thinking about how I need to buy my Euro rail pass.

I should be freaking out about finals right aaaaaaboooouut...now. There's so much due for next week. While talking with a class mate I ran into today, I found out about yet another Big Thing due a week earlier than expected. But yet some how I feel calm about the entire thing. I think I have come to accept the fact that I will be pulling all nighters at least twice next week. And I should be doing more now, but I'm choosing instead what I am more interested. Drawing and surfing the internet. Oh hohum, I'll pay for it later.
I'm trying to bring a little bit more color into my palette of black and beige. Didn't turn out bright, but I didn't think that fit the mood anyways.
Oh, and today I had the pleasure of biking to Krogers and buying groceries. Hadn't loaded up my bike quite so heavily before. And also, I bought "The Darjeeling Limited". Will be watching tomorrow, and rewatching over the break. It's epic, on the level of "Garden State" and "The History Boys" epic.

So it's been a while and a day now since something's been posted. I could excuse myself by listing many sleepless nights, hours of work on projects, and just participating in a social life in general. But I won't. Instead I'll posted up a few pictures (mostly a catalog of Vday gifts) and get on with my day.
Speaking of which, if it goes as planned it should resemble something of the following:
+A bicycle ride
+Carving rin
+Lunch and dinner (not at the same time)
+And drawing for the fun of it
Yes that all sounds quite dandy indeed to me, and I can't believe it's only Saturday.

Here are a few things I did over winter break. Well, a couple. Moleskine and Copics have quite the potential.
Also, I realize some people are amazing in how desperately they cling to the past. There's this one ex-friend, and, my god, she came off as such a creepy...cant say... when I last met her and when I heard about her today. It makes me laugh though. (I am horrible I know) But honestly, I have not a single regret with how that relationship ended. I hope she finally got the point today. I couldn't deliver it though, I wasn't there.
Anyways, more things tomorrow. I went to a flea-market this morning with some friends and came home with some nice things. Oh, and a friend got me something nice to hang up on the wall yesterday.
Aurevoir!

I'm back in town & now that finals are over I'm determined to keep up this neglected blog.
So, being on a break with no work in particular means I'm catching up on a lot of
neglected reading.
First off is a book I started in the summer, I read the introduction and theory talk, but just didn't get to reading the part that actually talks about painting. A wonderful read so far.
Picked this one up at the beginning of the quarter but never got very far in it. I must admit it was the title that got me. I'm probably reading this too early, but it seems like it will be a good second read too. It's mostly about the transitioning from student industrial designer to the real, business world.
I picked this book up by chance on one of my last days in town, but I think it was due to good fortune. The first half seems to cover the history and context of industrial design, and the rest goes into the practices of manufacturing. As I'm starting my prototyping class this upcoming quarter, I feel like I'm getting a head-start.
So I've been taking a long rambling journey with this one, starting it a year ago now. This isn't to say the book isn't good or engaging, in fact it really is. Every time I pick it up it's hard to put down, over half-way done with it now. The beauty of Eastern Europe is described in vivid detail, making it just one more place I want to visit.
Bought this right before leaving for SCAD, and never got around to reading it. It's the third, and last, book of a Russian Sci-fi triology. I've seen both of the Russian made movies, and even got to go to the premier of the second one. Looking forward to finishing this, but it'll be hard to say "good-bye" to the characters I've fallen in love with.
Yes, so, that's what I'm currently up to. Also, to throw in a picture that is mine, I give you some lineart. Afterwards I went ahead and colored it with my Copics, but I'm having a little more trouble scanning it in.
Went to an air force museum, or some such today. We drew planes, ones that, in my case, looked abysmal. But tonight I drew this feathery creature. It's very fine, long feathers, not fur.

So here I am with a blog I hardly know what to do with. A first post is always a little nerve-wracking. I feel like I'm stepping out onto a stage with a bright spotlight blinding me from seeing the crowd. And that's the jist, you, whoever you are reading this right now, I can't see you. But perhaps that lets me be a little more free.
For instance, while I wouldn't be flashing this comic about publicly, I'm willing to post it on my blog.
Here are ten or so pages of a short comic I did
for 24 Hours Comic Day. An event, for me, that turned into a 14 hours comic day with fourteen or so pages.
And oh, yes, the title? Well, let's leave that one to the imagination...
